Michelle came to Digital Works – Reeb Avenue Center in Columbus, Ohio, in July 2016, and had been unemployed for 7 months. She was looking for a quality work opportunity that offered flexibility for her to attend classes in the evenings, one that she could do with a physical disability, and one that would provide for her family. Additionally, Michelle really wanted a job with a company where she could grow and advance professionally.
In August, Michelle graduated the Digital Works training program, and she quickly secured the job that fit all her needs. She was hired as a customer support representative for Safelite, a national auto glass company. The position works with her schedule and is full-time, and the company offers benefits and has ongoing employee training, education, and advancement opportunities.
Because of Michelle’s Digital Works certification, the company offered her $1 more per hour in wages than what they typically pay candidates in the same role!
“I thank God first, and I thank Digital Works for teaching me all the skills to be successful at my new career—for fostering hope and for inspiring people like me,” shared Michelle.
