Our Graduates

We currently have graduates residing in the following 22 states: AL, AR, AZ, CA, GA, KS, KY, LA, MI, ME, MO, MS, NC, NM, NV, NY, OH, OK, PA, TX, TN, WV and we have international students in New Zealand and Korea

Our graduates come from all walks of life and live in rural and urban settings across the United States. They include, among others, single parents, veterans, active military, young adults, and senior citizens looking for full- or part-time work and flexibility in their careers.

Penny Rowland

Digital Works Graduate

Penny Rowland loves living in Gallipolis, a small, rural town in southern Ohio. But there were few opportunities for work after manufacturing jobs moved to more-populated areas—Digital Works had the solution.

Will Yarborough

Digital Works Graduate

Will Yarborough enlisted in the Texas Army National Guard in 2013. He needed a job that would pay well and allow him to serve— Digital Works offered that.

"A veteran or someone in the active military is a perfect match for online jobs. You’re a part-time soldier, part-time civilian, and you have to work for a company that makes that possible and understands this. I was working at Pizza Hut, and it just wasn’t enough to make a living wage. Digital Works changed that."

Jen Sherwood

Jen Sherwood is a single mother with two school-age children, one of whom has severe health issues, and she was in search of a flexible job that allowed her to care for her children—Digital Works was her answer.

According to a Pentagon report, even at a time of record unemployment rates for our country, the military spouse community struggles against a 26% unemployment rate and a 25% wage gap compared to their civilian counterparts.

In 2018, Digital Works launched a pilot program to address the needs of military spouses and veterans. Two classes were held in the Elizabethtown/Fort Knox, Kentucky area, and Connected Nation was inundated with applications and questions from those who were interested in taking part. The program was so successful that classes for military spouses and veterans were launched in early 2020 in Fort Campbell, Kentucky.

The Employers

Digital Works staff soon learned that military spouses and veterans are uniquely and well-suited for the Digital Works program. The students were eager to learn and quickly leveraged their new skills and connections to find jobs, some landing more than one position.

For that reason, we are currently working with partners to serve this population and are seeking funding and support to expand and offer this to military spouses and veterans across the country.
