Kayla completed the Digital Works program in early 2015 in Gallipolis, Ohio. She worked hard and excelled during training and was hired immediately by LiveOps upon graduating the program. Soon after securing her new job, she found out she was pregnant. The work-from-home opportunity was perfect for her situation, and she was able to work through most of the pregnancy. She left the position shortly before her daughter’s arrival. When Kayla was ready to return to work after the baby’s arrival, she met with her Digital Works facilitator, Sherri Shaw, because she wanted to look at W-2 employment opportunities that offered benefits. Kayla found just that and was soon hired by Convergys as a remote service agent. While waiting for the next onboarding session for her new position, Kayla was also offered a local bricks-and-mortar job in the hospitality industry.
According to Kayla, the various customer service exercises, resume writing, and interview skills gained through her Digital Works training helped her secure both opportunities. For now, she’s accepted the local position in hospitality, but she’s happy to have two great options available to her.
