Digital Works program provides skills training and job placement assistance at no cost to Kentucky veterans, military spouses

Dependents, caregivers, and others in the military community who live in Kentucky and the Fort Campbell area are also eligible

Fort Campbell, Kentucky (February 14, 2022)
– Digital Works (DW), a program developed by the national nonprofit Connected Nation (CN), is showing some love this Valentine’s Day to the military community across Kentucky thanks to a grant from the state.

DW is offering its digital skill training and job placement assistance program to military spouses, veterans, veteran spouses, and active/transitioning soldiers living across Kentucky and in the Fort Campbell area, which includes part of Tennessee. There is no cost to participate in a virtual or on-site DW class.

To be eligible for upcoming classes, interested participants must reside in Kentucky or the Fort Campbell area, be at least 18 years old, and have a high school diploma or GED. Upcoming classes start on February 21 and March 14, so members of the military community are encouraged to register now and spread the word to others.

More about Digital Works
DW’s current course is virtual, two weeks long, and covers a variety of marketable techniques such as typing, communication, customer service, résumé building, interviewing and technical skills needed for optimal at-home computer usage. Once participants complete the DW course, they are provided job placement assistance for online, remote positions.

Having a position that can be done from anywhere is especially important for military spouses who move often in support of their loved ones who are serving. A remote position can also be beneficial for veterans, caregivers, and others within the military community who need a non-traditional work setting to thrive.

DW has worked with military spouses and veterans over the past several years and marked its 1,000th job placement at the height of the pandemic. The program offers new classes monthly.

Upcoming training dates are as follows:
•February 21 to March 4
•March 14 to 29
•April 11 to 26
•May 4 to 17
•May 23 to June 7
•June 15 to 30
