Class of 2015: Brandi Holly
Columbus Oh, (August 5, 2020) – Digital Works (DW), a program of Connected Nation, has just hit its 1,000 th job placement! In celebration, we will be sharing stories of past participants, facilitators, supporters, and funders/partners, along with the history of our program and how it has impacted so many lives.
In 2015, Brandi Holly was one of the first students to participate in the Digital Works program at the Dublin Granville Center, which was later moved to the Reeb Avenue Center in Columbus, Ohio. She desperately wanted a work-from-home (WFH) job, but while researching by herself she ran into problems like identity theft with shady companies.
Then the Ohio Means Jobs Foundation introduced her to Digital Works — and it was just the opportunity she needed. Although she had to travel 1 hour and 45 minutes (both ways) every day to take her children to school and then get to Reeb Avenue for class, Holly was committed to securing a WFH job to provide for her children.
“Digital Works is a great lead into the WFH field,” said Holly. “Your personal information will be concealed, they present you with tons of companies you can apply for, and they keep up with you. They do not just teach you, but they carry through the complete process and thereafter. As long as you are connected with DW, they are connected with you.”
After graduating in 2015, Holly applied to call center company LiveOps and still works there today — five years later. She now works from home and is able to spend more time with her children while being able to have a full-time career. “I am and will forever be a lifer of DW and will always recommend DW,” said Holly. “This organization has not only helped improve my life by providing me with resources but also by going above and beyond for myself and my children!”
Congratulations Brandi Holly! Best wishes from everyone at Digital Works on your continued success. If you are interested in learning more about Digital Works, visit our website www.digitalworksjobs.org
