Meet Thelma and Katie. They both are graduates of Digital Works in Gallipolis, Ohio
Thelma Mitchell (first photo, bottom row in pink) is just beginning down the path of her new career. She worked as a nursing assistant for many years until physical limitations impacted her ability to continue in the field. She was referred to Digital Works through Gallia County Job and Family Services.
Thelma was nervous, feeling limited in her computer skills. She began her Digital Works training in late December 2016. Just six weeks later, in early February, she had completed training and received her first job offer.
“I am very happy to report that I have just been accepted as a full-time LiveOps sales agent! I am so excited to get to work, and get my self-respect back as a full-time wage earner. Thanks again to Sherri and the Digital Works program,” shared Thelma.
But, as another Digital Works graduate is proving—it’s not just about where you begin your new career but where you ultimately can take it.
Katie Crisp (pictured right, bottom row in brown) graduated from the Digital Works program in mid-2015. Just a month or so later, she took seasonal work with Sutherland Cloud Source; that position was followed by a permanent position with ViaSource Solutions.
But, Katie wasn’t done yet. She turned down another job opportunity so she could do more with her career. Her decision paid off.
In late March, Katie was offered a management role as a Team Lead with her current employer. The position includes a full-time schedule and pay increase to boot.
Congrats to both Katie and Thelma. Their careers are at different stages but both are great examples of what taking part in Digital Works can do for your future.
