In 2010, Larry Steward had retired, but a few years later found himself in need of a job. Larry and his wife went to a job fair, found Digital Works, and spoke with Gallipolis facilitator, Sherri Shaw. Once training began Larry knew he had found the right program that would prepare him for a well-paying, part-time job.
“I’ll be 72 next month, and it’s difficult to find a job at the age of retirement. I thought it would be simpler to work near home; plus, there are so many scams out there you don’t really know what is a real job and what isn’t,” Larry explained.

“Digital Works helped guide me to getting a job and my own source of income. I have the ability to work at the Gallipolis call center, so my wife just drops me off there before she heads to work. The schedule we have together is great!”
Although Larry had already worked an IT job before Digital Works training, he still left the program with valuable skills and lasting relationships.
“It helped me because it gave me employment, but it also taught me how to interact with customers; I think that skill is what ultimately landed me a job,” Larry said.
Overall, Larry’s best takeaway from Digital Works is that it leads to real jobs and teaches real skills. He has been working since 2014 for LiveOps with no plans to stop anytime soon.
“Digital Works is a great idea and a great concept. I can work part-time after retirement and still gain some sort of income for my wife and me.”
