Great food and lively conversation were the focus of a Digital Works family reunion. It was a time to show support and comradery between past and current Digital Works participants.
Gallipolis graduates, current trainees, and their families brought a variety of dishes, including desserts, for a potluck meal on Friday, June 2. About 30 people participated in the potluck that took place at the Gallipolis Digital Works center.
Excellent job training opportunities and potlucks are not the only ways Connected Nation’s Digital Works program puts a smile on people’s faces.
Last Friday Gallipolis facilitator, Sherri Shaw, along with graduates, surprised one of their very own for his birthday. Larry Steward was celebrated by other graduates that work in the center beside him. He was greeted at the Gallipolis Digital Works center with birthday balloons, cake, and a few gifts throughout the work day.

“Larry is reliable and helpful, and I wouldn’t be able to run this place without him,” said Sherri Shaw. “I love to see the friendships that develop when people go through the class together . . . they all touch my heart, and I will always consider them friends and family.”

Surprising a fellow colleague and graduate for his birthday is just one way the bond between Digital Works graduates and staff grows. There’s no doubt that more get-togethers will be held in the near future to celebrate current and previous Digital Works trainees.
