Fort Campbell, Kentucky (July 26, 2022) – In the heart of down-town Clarksville, Tennessee – just feet from the Montgomery County courthouse, you’ll find Operation Stand Down Tennessee (OSDTN), one of the communities most caring and hands-on non-profit organizations. They’re dedicated to helping engage, equip and empower military veterans and their families within the community.
Operation Stand Down began as an alliance of volunteers helping the chronically homeless in 1993 and since then, they’re mission has expanded. Veterans and their family members can benefit from their Transitional Housing program created to provide safe housing and additional resources for long-term, stable housing. Veterans and family members can sit down with a Veteran Service Officer to receive a better understanding of their VA benefits. They also provide help for veteran’s Immediate needs that may be urgent like car repairs, groceries, and clothing.
Their Career service support is one of the most valuable resources offered to their veteran community and created to help provide meaningful employment by giving them a hand up and not a handout. OSD partners with local organizations to provide help with transitioning, networking, resume building, job recruiting opportunities and hiring fairs.
Digital Works is honored to work alongside OSD to provide their veterans and spouses with job skills training and to provide opportunities for remote work.
“Frank Ketchum -Assistant District Manager and Career Consultant for the Clarksville location – is a veteran himself and he’s so enthusiastic about helping connect folks that come through his doors with long term solutions that can better their lifestyle. Any time he thinks that someone might benefit from our training, he tells them about our program and immediately reaches out to have us connect with them. He connected us to a spouse that just graduate from our program this month and is well on her way to securing employment! I am always thrilled when he has spouses who need our help.”
“Being able to partner with OSD to better the lives of those who have served our country and their family members is truly phenomenal.” says Chantel, Digital Works Proctor.
