Fort Campbell, Ky (October 29, 2020) – This month, we shine the spotlight on Donna J., a Navy veteran and recent program graduate. Donna has amazing people skills, and it was no surprise when she graduated and secured a position in the customer service field.
She has a passion for helping people in her day-to-day life, and her job is no exception. “I get paid to talk to people,” Donna explains. “If they are upset, I look at it as a way of helping solve someone’s problem, and that makes me feel good. If a customer is truly upset, they just want to be heard. I really take the time to listen to their issue and allow them to speak, and in doing so, I’m able to help solve their issue. After they have felt heard, they feel so much better and we get off the phone laughing!”
Donna adds that the Digital Works class emphasized the importance of listening and taught her how to be empathetic to customers.
She also says that working from home has been wonderful. “I am able to wake up, get my coffee and sign right into work. I love that I do not have to worry about driving to work in snowy or rainy conditions. I don’t need to stop for gas or worry about being late because of traffic. I’m able to be home with my family while earning a living.”
And according to Donna, Digital Works has provided her with the skills and support needed to work from home. “I love the job mentorship and their willingness to help me find the right job for my lifestyle. The fact that they introduced me to genuine remote companies was amazing! This program has helped me a great deal, and I plan on using my skills to learn new things and help as many people as I can.”
