Author of bestselling memoir, Breaking Night and inspirational speaker, Liz Murray (pictured below, back row in purple), visited the Digital Works – Reeb Avenue Center in Columbus, Ohio last week. Murray visited with Digital Works students and shared her “Homeless to Harvard” story, as well as her initiative to provide services like Digital Works to people in her hometown in the New York City area.
Murray shared about her background before and after attending Harvard University and how programs like Digital Works positively impacted her life and helped her progress to the career she has today. Her words of wisdom and encouragement brightened the room as she mingled with the students and took a photo with the class. Murray gave the students suggestions and encouragement, assuring them that programs like Digital Works are an opportunity to grow and gain applicable skills for future job placement.
It was an inspiring day, and the students and staff were excited to meet a woman who is an example of what a program like Digital Works can do to improve an individual’s life circumstances and start them on the road to success.
