Columbus, Ohio – Seven Digital Works locations throughout Ohio are now accepting used electronics to be recycled by the nonprofit group Community Computer Alliance (CCA). CCA serves individuals with Autism and other developmental disabilities by offering job skill training through electronic recycle and refurbish work. Participants of CCA learn to dismantle, sort, and rebuild electronics, to work independently, and as part of a team, to be responsible, and to hold regular job duties and hours.
“Our unique program gives adults living with developmental disabilities the opportunity to learn important life skills in a workplace environment,” said Dan Hurst, Executive Director of Community Computer Alliance. “We see clients such as Ryan who wouldn’t talk to others and could only focus on tasks for under an hour before needing to leave. His abilities and confidence have grown to where he now socializes well with the others working alongside him, and he is able to focus and feel comfortable for two or more hours each day he comes here. It’s very worthwhile and we know CCA is making a big difference.”
The public may donate their outdated or end-of-life electronics, such as laptops, tablets, phones, gaming systems, printers, scanners, ink and toner cartridges, and more, at the following Ohio Digital Works facilities.

- Gallipolis – 859 Third Avenue, Gallipolis
- Logan – 80 E. Main Street, Logan
- Lynchburg – 263 N. Main Street, Lynchburg
- Middleport – 349 2nd Street, Middleport
- Portsmouth – 433 Third Street, Portsmouth (moving to new location in October, TBA)
- West Union – 111 W. Main Street, West Union
