Eastern Kentuckians seeking remote-work jobs they can perform using a computer and the Internet now have more chances to train for and enter the fast-growing digital economy thanks to a partnership between two telework and technology innovators.
Teleworks USA and Digital Works are teaming up to bring an exclusive training program and new inbound customer service job opportunities to Teleworks USA’s Teleworks Hubs in Hazard and Annville.
Starting Nov. 3, Digital Works will begin delivering its exclusive Tier 1 customer support and technology training program at the Teleworks Hub in Hazard, located within the Kentucky Career Center JobSight at 412 Roy Campbell Drive.
The Digital Works training program is also slated to begin before the end of the year at a second Teleworks Hub in Jackson County, located at 169 Carpenter Drive in Annville. That launch date will be announced soon.
Teleworks USA Regional Manager Teresa Hylton will facilitate the 4- to 6-week, self-paced training at the Teleworks Hub in Hazard. To enroll in a Digital Works training class, contact Hylton at 606-435-7798. Class size is limited, so call and enroll early to get a guaranteed training slot.
Those who successfully complete the training are connected with inbound customer service telework job opportunities with global corporations. These jobs can be performed either at workspaces within the Teleworks Hub or a home office with suitable computer and phone equipment and high-speed Internet access.

“Digital Works is a natural outgrowth from our mission to accelerate broadband access and adoption, and we’re looking forward to working with Teleworks USA to train eastern Kentucky residents in twenty-first t-century skills,” René True, director of Digital Works’ Kentucky operations, said.
The Digital Works program, which launched in June 2013 in Ohio, has already placed about 200 Ohioans into jobs. The program’s first Kentucky site opened in July 2014 in Frankfort.
Based on Digital Works’ performance at its Ohio sites, the program provides employment placement for more than 90 percent of training graduates in telework jobs starting at $9 per hour, Higgins said.
